Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. Her family was home-schooled by her mother and her father, in USA. She was subjected to racial remarks and being made to feel unwelcome. In the ninth grade, after a school audition in which she received praises for her singing, she started to build confidence. This not only increased confidence in herself, but it also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She was a graduate of New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. When she was 23, she made her debut at the Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. The most notable success of her career came in the role of The Lady Of The Lake as Spamalot's first Broadway production. She did not only receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also well-received by reviewers. Her fame grew by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. As a professional singer, she's also produced songs as well as an extended work. In addition, she's an activist who works hard for LGBT rights.
