Cassandra Monique Batie also known as Andra is a American R&B soul, soul and musician and singer. She's won a Grammy Award and Children's and Family Emmy Award. Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nominations are also some of her awards. Andra Day is a ferocious singer and artful songwriter who isn't merely a throwback R&B specialist her roots in gospel music and blues performed with ease and grace are carried into the current. Her debut album Cheers To The Autumn (2015) was an immediate hit in the R&B/hiphop genre that earned her a host of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017), her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack, earned her both awards. Amen (2018) Make Your Troubles (2020), and her Golden Globe-winning performance in Billie Holiday, in The United States against Billie Holiday(2021) continue to build anticipation for Day's second full album. Andra has been born Cassandra Monique Batie on Edmonds Washington. After growing up in San Diego and surrounding areas, she began performing in the church and was enrolled into at the School of Creative and Performing Arts. Following her graduation from the school, she was drawn to the newer styles of R&B and pop but found herself drawn to the jazz and soul singers she listened to when she was a child. Kai Millard Morris recorded a show of Day which she later shared with her husband Stevie Wonder some of Day's songs. The Motown legend later linked Day with veteran of the music industry Adrian Gurvitz. Day's fan base on YouTube grew quickly after she joined forces together with Gurvitz, Jeffrey Evans and Buskin. Day ultimately got a major label contract in partnership with Warner Bros. The song was picked up quickly from radio DJs. After the signing of Warner Bros. Records, she began working alongside producer Adrian Gurvitz to create her debut album "Cheers to fall" (2015). The single "Rise Up" has become a massive anthem within social justice movements. Day won two Grammy nominations in the category of Best R&B Album for her album. Day released The United States Vs. Billie Holiday in 2019, A concept album about the life and work of jazz legend Billie Holiday. She also starred in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a film on Holiday. Andi Matichak, an American actor. She first appeared in the movie Halloween in the role of Allyson After appearing on several television shows including Orange Is the New Black (Orange is the new black), 666 Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue), Blue Bloods and Orange is the New Black. Andi matichak is an American actor born in Framingham on 3rd May 1994.
